if you have to pay to participate, it isn't a good idea. Survey Scout itself just gives you a list from their database, and some people say they've found the same list on a free site.

I signed up for globalopinionpanels.com and have made about $5 so far. It operates on a point system and it takes 5000 points to get $5 ... surveys range so far from 50 to 5000 points, depending on the time & complexity. Most surveys have taken me at least 30 minutes. So I've done 7 surveys for a total of $10 and 3 1/2 hours. Hey, I made $2.85 an hour! Big pay! Plus, it takes 4-6 weeks to get a check in the mail. I just posted my 1st payment request, so I don't know yet if they actually will pay ...

I've also done a few surveys for Ipso-ISay and their point system is incredibly small. I don't expect to get anything out of them. I've done 3 or 4 surveys and have 1 point. They have a long list of merchandise and gift cards you can redeem points for, but the lowest I've seen is a phone card for 50 points. Not a fast process.

Online surveys are not actual moneymakers, except for companies like Survey Scout who take your money to give you a list. Survey taking is the next generation of "Make Tons of Money at Home Assembling Products".

As with all things, "buyer beware". If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Online surveys sure seem to fit that adage.

ps - I suggest doing a search on "survey scout" and reading some people's experiences. The disgruntled far outweigh the satisfied.

Are you sure this is legit? This site sells a membership to help you find survey deals. I'm always suspicious of this business model.
